About the Founder of LARK Labs
As HRAC Program Coordinator at Fanshawe College, I bring over two decades of comprehensive experience spanning industry practice, education, and program leadership in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration sector. My career foundation was built through 14 years as owner-operator of Mike's Heating and Home Comfort, providing me with deep understanding of the practical challenges and opportunities facing HVAC professionals and business owners.
For the past decade, I have served as an instructor at Fanshawe College, where I have dedicated the last five years to coordinating the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning program, the 313D Refrigeration Apprenticeship, and the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Programs. This dual perspective of field experience and educational leadership has given me unique insight into the evolving needs of the industry.
Recognizing a critical gap between traditional field experience and emerging technology, I have developed innovative solutions to bridge this divide. My initiatives include creating comprehensive mobile tools and digital resources designed to enhance efficiency and effectiveness for HVAC technicians, students, and business owners. These platforms consolidate essential HVAC tools in one accessible location while providing free training modules and practice examinations for TSSA G3 and G2 certification preparation.
My commitment to advancing industry standards extends to developing certificate programs that keep professionals current with best practices and technological advancements. Through these efforts, I am dedicated to promoting workplace safety, professional development, and operational excellence across the HVAC community.
